You don’t have to share my point of view I won’t try to tell you what to do It’s open to interpretation Once it used to bind the nation This just might’ve been a perfect place Point your finger Give an angry glare There was once a time we used to share Take a step back Vacate the space How could we let this get defaced This just might’ve been a perfect place I have to pinch myself How’d this change so much To think we’ve past the best I feel such regret This just might’ve been a perfect place etc Anger & resentment Once there was contentment Suspicion & dissension This just might’ve been a perfect place Conquered & divided Formerly united We must try to make sense Time is of the essence This just might’ve been a perfect place

I’d like to play a song now I nearly wrote last night I think you’d really like it If it had seen the light It was an instant classic A masterpiece I’d say But I’m disappointed You’ll never hear me play The best song you never heard It came within a moment But quickly it left me It started in Bm no maybe it was G The chorus was so catchy It could have hooked a whale But it got away on me I’m afraid this riff has failed It was the best song you never heard And I really regret it etc How could I forget it It went la la la la etc It was the best song you never heard And I just can’t remember a word It was the best song you never & you won’t hear it ever It was the best song you never heard

We’re Debris crumbling down a mountain in torrential rain Navigating to our destination Growing slow (not sure I said this) seizing up Discovering we’re made up of flesh & bone & skin & blood Organic Time will ease the drive To combat all creatures cutting through your merry path Then you find a clue to enlighten you before you get much older Turning off the fast lane Romanticise the mundane Nurturing a feeling to abstain Say the mantra over time & time again Try to become self contained & totally maintained That’s organic?! Spark stops glistening Naturally engulfed into the vacant chasm It sounds apocryphal But I can confirm it’s totally organic Yeah it’s organic etc etc

Down in Deep Gully In the district Erehwon A horse has never been observed In this no horse town It’s a drive through, there is no view It’s a blink & you’ll miss it, if you see it you’ll forget, let down. Down in Deep Gully Dreams are a menace to her health She scolds the kids like her mother did & hates that about herself Emotion simmers over, loses self control Never seen a beach, happy life out of reach Never spent a night outside this shit hole Oh down in Deep Gully Down in Deep Gully Alpine fault line, alpine strife Wonders how life might have differed if she’d not become a young wife He was the only boy when she grew out of toys But he’s still behaving like a boy Never thinking, always drinking As he causes carnage, everything he touches he destroys Down in Deep Gully His favourite pastime Stealing cars from the forest parks, taking more risk all the time Crash the car, ignite the car, push it off the side of the road Settle up & drink some more What to hear the wreck explode Oh down in Deep Gully Gotta get out of Deep Gully etc

FRONT UP I was feeling dreadful I awoke in dire health My passing sickness I inflicted on myself Thought I might stay in bed, abandoning the day Then I remembered what the old man used to say Always front up the next day Always show your face Always front up the next day Let the team down is a disgrace Always front up the next day It was you who drank that shot If you do the wine you have to do the grind You better clock in on the dot Always front upx3 Always front up the next day Respect is what you’ll earn Always front up the next day But your stomachs gonna churn Always front up the next day When you’re still half off your face Always front up the next day You can work at snails pace Always front up the next day x2

about

About this EP:
I wrote a heap of songs while on a roll in 2019. Yeah remember those glory days of the old world.
I’d wanted to come back to these at some stage & try & improve upon the demos.
As a hobbiest, DIY muso, it’s been a long journey to develop an understanding of digital home recording & I took my time(watched a heap more videos on Logic Pro X, thanks to all those great YouTubers) & tried to improve a bit more.
I’ll try & figure out parallel compression using side chains for the next release. You’ll really notice the difference I promise.
Hopefully I’ll have a new Mac too, as I spend more time watching the dreaded spinning colour ball than actually working on the tracks.

Don’t forget to check out the home made, cheap as fuck vids too.
Basically my philosophy on music making is do everything free or as cheap as possible but aim for as higher quality as possible.

Then give it away.
I hope you enjoy/enjoyed it.
Cheers,
CT

credits

released May 22, 2022

Credits:
CT on all sounds made by a human.
Algorithmic Bot on drums. But I severely manipulated & scrutinised his every beat. He never complained once about his artistic integrity being compromised. He also never needed to sleep on my couch.

Studio: the dining room & maybe the kitchen when I spun the Mac around in the breakfast bar. Different room sound for vocals.
