This was originally titled Debris in 2019.
I wasn’t happy with the lyrics & lacked inspiration to rewrite them.
So I forced myself to rewrite them shortly before recording them. It was an at times unpleasant experience & took far too long.
I hope it sounds deep & insightful, but…
I hear artists(mostly musicians) in interviews say how it(art, music, whatever) just happened organically, as though that should be held on a higher plain of integrity than work that was difficult to finish creating & the artist had to stretch themselves to complete.
These same organic artists would probably call that type of art contrived.
Get off you fake moral high ground & try a bit harder!
So in a way, maybe I’m extracting the Michael somewhat lyrically.

Discovering we’re made up of flesh & bone & skin & blood
Organic
Time will ease the drive
To combat all creatures cutting through your merry path

Turning off the fast lane
Romanticise the mundane
Nurturing a feeling to abstain
Say the mantra over time & time again
Try to become self contained & totally maintained
That’s organic?!
Spark stops glistening
Naturally engulfed into the vacant chasm
It sounds apocryphal
But I can confirm it’s totally organic
Yeah it’s organic etc etc
